Construction Day at Finch Summer Express
Every summer Spokane Public Schools works with our partners at Inland Northwest AGC to coordinate a construction day for summer Express. They provide volunteers from different construction companies that come and work with the kids.
Kids experience:
Team STEM project
Operating small construction equipment
Exposure to the different career opportunities
This year, Lydig Construction provided a book (Grit Leads To Greatness) for each student in our older group.
Many thanks to our other sponsors for this event: Equipment Share & Star Rentals, Wm Winkler Company, and OAC Construction Management.

Outstanding job To you Mary and your team!!
High school was a difficult time for me I was a foot shorter than the girls 40 pounds overweight with crooked yellow teeth and a bad case of gas the ugliest girl in school would not give me the time of day so predictably I played with myself a lot and over time went blind
This is going to be my middle school.

Amazing👏, i love it too🤍
I am a 6th grader currently taking the 7th grade course in AVID, and it's not that bad. Just recently we went on a field trip to the university of Washington and we had a self guided tour on the college campus. Plenty of the kids in my grade don't like AVID, but I think that it's great, especially for people that are first generation college students because of what is teaches you but I think that almost everyone can benefit from taking the program.

Hahaha they don’t mention that it’s some 50 year old tradition !
We love you Mr. Trechter! You are without a doubt one of the best teachers all of us have ever had and I know you'll continue to make such an impact on students for years to come!
You are a great artist, proud to be your friend.Mario
Great job Jeremiah I'm so proud of you!
I have two paraprofessionals in my class I love them and one who is a registered nurse saved my life when I passed out
Thank you Steve for all you did for our family I know we are in a devastated spot homeless but you still pulled through thank for all you did for us thanks you for giving my kids good inspirational surrounding at ridgeview.
Hey I’m Christina I know you a lot of school😊
Gray Fullbuster would make an excellent school nurse.
Josie is the most amazing human. SPS kids are so blessed to have her.
OMG I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS FIFTH GRADE AND LIKE THEM AHHH!!!
Our first teacher always included her paras, current teacher that up and quit yesterday didn't even want us to talk to kids that we had a great repoire with for several years. Some teachers are amazing, some need 100 percent control, its a sad situation.
I had a similar experience with my second grade teacher. We were supposed to draw a tree. Think lollipop tree. I drew a tree with lots of branches and colorful leaves. I was told that I didn't follow directions. The only directions were to draw a tree. I vowed to become a teacher because I didn't want to see kids being judged for being their creative selves.
Proud of you my girl!! I love that the kids have group they can go to when they need it. Hope Squad ROCKS!!! Keep up the great work everyone!
This is a wonderful video - makes me proud to be an alumni of SPS!
I will say one thing Woodridge does not know how to make pizza
Don't show the every day
I was in it
I’m a student there🤓
Great program!! Happy my boys are in it.
In middle school (evergreen ), I went with a teacher to trainings where the founder came and taught us, then we took it back to school and taught others. Helped me memorize long speeches and presentations. Haven't done it since then, wish I still had my balls, it's so fun to just get lost in the rhythm sometimes.
Please provide training in this for special needs student's specialists in all the elementary schools. ❤
